In this month’ s edition of EMS Magazine I write about heart disease in a format that I hope you like and find useful. Within it I talk about some changes in our treatment of HF, new things and things that we need to get away from.

Follow this link to read it. If you want to print it I would suggest printing the digital edition, the link can be found at the top right.

Anyways, enjoy and let me know what you think!

Section Chief, Section of EMS and Trauma Systems, Arkansas Department of Health Dies Suddenly

November 10, 2009

Taylor_Memorial_v3I was in my hotel room on Thursday night. At about 10:30p my phone rang with a number from an area code that I did not recognize and a gentleman by the name of John Ord introduced himself as a fan of EMSGarage. He was calling from Arkansas and is a routine listener of the podcast. He was calling me because we had visited my website and knew that I did design work. He went on to tell me that their state EMS director, David Taylor, had died suddenly on the 5th and he was looking for a mourning Star of Life to help honor him. I created a couple of versions for him that night.

Using Medical Images in EMS Education

October 27, 2009

“Death by PowerPoint!” Are you one of those that consistently uses PowerPoint in your programs? Students falling asleep? Worse, instructors falling asleep?

Most likely this is due to the fact there is little interaction between the instructor and students. By adding images to your presentations, especially in a case-based format, you will begin to see your students, and instructors, perk up.

Recently Kris Kaull spoke with me regarding this topic, take a look.
